“Phone Chorus” is a performance featuring the smart phones of the audience.
Audience members are prompted to visit a website (through program notes or projected text) where they are invited to choose an audio track and let it play through their phone’s speakers. The tracks consist of a variety of drones and rhythmic textures, each around ten minutes long. As each audience member starts their track at a different time, the piece ends when all of the tracks have completely played through.
